Learn how the world’s largest enterprises are rebuilding work for the AI era.

The rapid advancements in AI are reshaping organizations in ways we could never have imagined. As executives and workforce professionals, we are at the forefront of this change. We must navigate this landscape with both boldness and responsibility.

Stakeholders are inviting workforce leaders into the boardroom. They recognize the high stakes. Get it right, or risk losing the business. We need to start talking to each other now. Show up with answers in these boardrooms.

Bold take: AI isn't taking jobs. It's creating jobs.

Adopting AI requires boldness and a proactive mindset. We must acknowledge that AI is here to stay. It will change both business strategy and the workforce DNA needed to achieve that strategy. Think about GPT's impact in just 18 months. Now imagine its evolution in the coming years. We need to lead the conversation. Our workforces will look drastically different soon.

Advancements in AI do not simply mean jobs are being replaced. AI also creates an abundance of new, exciting career opportunities. The bold challenge: reinvent our workforce DNA. Use AI intentionally to drive greater operational efficiency. Create clear career pathways.

Every enterprise is deploying AI. Almost none can see the work they're deploying it into.

This isn't just about today. It's about setting up the next generation. A fair and ethical workplace. Start thinking about:

  • Which tasks can AI handle to boost efficiency? Which free our people for meaningful strategic work?
  • How should we reskill our workforce to meet AI-powered strategic goals?
  • What new opportunities can AI create? How do we move our people to those opportunities?

Facing this reality now lets us boldly bring our people along. Educating them about the future may be scary. But with a clear, exciting pathway to reskilling and opportunity, it becomes manageable.

Responsible take: AI doesn't come without risks

There's a global movement by regulators. They demand more accountability and explainability from AI-based systems. Especially those operating in areas with higher bias risk, like workforce decisions.

Fact: If you use AI for any talent decision-making and it results in discrimination, you are liable. Whether the bias comes from you or the AI.

NYC Local Law 144, introduced in January 2023, ensures organizations cannot "mark their own homework." Independent audits of AI systems are crucial for ethical practices. Reejig volunteered for the first independent bias audit on talent AI in 2020. We continue to uphold these standards.

Good and fair decisions don't just ensure compliance. They make people feel seen, heard, and valued. Skills, experience, and potential sit at the forefront of every employment decision.

To ensure responsible AI use, workforce professionals should ask:

  • Have you had an independent bias audit?
  • Who conducted it, and what was the scope?
  • When was it done, and is it repeated annually?
  • Will you share the results?
  • How do you support notice and consent?
  • What data do you collect and use in hiring?
  • How is your AI designed to reduce bias?
  • How do you regulate and review AI for ethical standards?

Ethical AI is essential for responsible leadership. Rigorous testing and adherence to ethical standards protect organizations. They build trust with employees and stakeholders. Workforce leaders must lead in educating about AI. They address fears and highlight benefits. Transparency and open dialogue foster inclusion and engagement.

By acting with boldness and responsibility, we drive meaningful change. We ensure a collaborative, AI-driven future.
